Have you ever seen the Wordless Book?
We used it in AWANA to teach the Cubbies the gospel. It uses simple colors: Black = sin,
Red = blood of Jesus, White = washed white as snow, Gold = Heaven, Green = Growing in Christ. This collage came out of a photo challenge I was in to demonstrate this wordless book.

Before I share my statement of faith: first a quick testimony. I was raised in a Catholic home, went to Catholic school and received most of the Sacraments. It was during graduate school, right before my friend's husband left for Dessert Storm that they took us to their evangelical church. It was missionary Sunday and they were....talking about... saving... Catholics?!? What??? John left that next day and since they had a small child, I helped Leslie in the evenings. Wow, did we have a powerful conversation that first night, but what it did was open the door for me to experience a whole new way of relating to God, personally. I remember her saying we were all sinners, even Mary, she really was just a Jewish girl in whom God found favor. What? Ok... fortunately for me, my church was one in which we were taught we were sinners and that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. This is what we confirmed at our Confirmation. It's a long story, so if you want to hear more of my story, just give me a shout. Long story short, I started reading and digging in to God's word. I started attending their church more than my Catholic church because it fed my spirit and I was learning what a closer walk with God looked like. I was surrounded by other believers that offered friendship and taught me much! It was not until after I moved to Kansas and was married that I was actually baptized at our Evangelical Bible church, this time out of obedience and identification to dying and rising with Christ, instead of just being sprinkled as a baby. When my mother was older I took her to church several times and was struck in a beautiful way by the reverence that the sincere Catholics have. Something we evangelicals have lost. Back in the day genuflecting before the Crucifix was just what you did. Now, having a deeper relationship with Jesus, I can fall to my knee at the mere remembrance of His sacrifice. Again, if you have questions I would be happy to answer them. For simplicity sake, I have shared Light Up The Dark's "what we believe" as it summarizes what I believe as well.
